I am the maker behind Woodland Threads, which combine eco printing (leaf imprints) natural dye - (vegetable and insect based dyes) and folding of fabric(shibori itajime)
Having previously been a photojournalist, I love the unexpected nature of the lines and tones that the leaves imprint on the silk and cashmere. I also love pattern and this brought me to include many folding techniques from traditional cultures in dying fabric - as well as a few new folds of my own. I found that the joy and flexibility of natural dyes is astonishing and the colour ranges and tonal variations are jewel like.
